About the Job
Maranoa and Totara Ridge together form a 650-hectare mixed farming business running premium red deer herds, Arapawa sheep, and trade steers. The farms use advanced breeding programs, including artificial insemination (AI) and embryo transfer (ET), with modern infrastructure and technology that support efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with stock handling and animal health management across both farms.

  • Carry out general farm duties such as fencing, machinery operation, and maintenance.

  • Operate cultivation equipment and support seasonal tasks like velveting and feeding.

  • Maintain tidy work areas and contribute to farm productivity.

  • Work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Stock handling and general farming experience preferred.

  • Experience with tractors, machinery, and water systems is an advantage.

  • Must have one to two well-controlled working dogs.

  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented.

  • Full New Zealand driver’s licence.

  • Commitment to animal welfare and farm safety.
