Bees 2 Honey Ltd is looking for a motivated Junior Beekeeper to join their team in Waimakariri, Canterbury. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for someone passionate about working outdoors and interested in learning the art and science of beekeeping.

About the Job
Based near Oxford, North Canterbury, Bees 2 Honey Ltd operates around 1,500 hives primarily focused on honey production, with additional queen cell and mated queen production activities. The role offers exposure to a range of beekeeping operations, making it a great opportunity for those looking to grow their skills in the apiculture industry.
Responsibilities

Assist with regular hive inspections and honey extraction.

Help monitor hive health and detect potential diseases.

Participate in hive movements and seasonal management activities.

Maintain and clean beekeeping tools and equipment.

Handle bees safely and follow health and safety protocols.

Perform general yard work and support senior beekeepers as required.
Requirements

Prior beekeeping experience preferred but not essential.

A strong interest in apiculture and eagerness to learn.

Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.

Physically fit with no history of back injuries (heavy lifting involved).

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Must be a New Zealand Citizen and live locally.
