Farm Systems Consultant & Analyst
Map of Ag is seeking a Farm Systems Consultant & Analyst to join its Consultancy team. The role bridges the consultancy, commercial, and technology functions, supporting marketing, product development, and project delivery.
You’ll help ensure Map of Ag’s products meet the needs of both New Zealand and global clients, requiring collaboration across teams in NZ, Australia, the UK, and Europe. The position is remote but involves travel to client locations and occasional overseas trips.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional passionate about sustainable farming systems, data-driven insights, and supporting the agricultural sector’s transition to low-carbon and nature-positive practices.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain a professional agricultural and agrifood network.

Produce technical reports, articles, and thought leadership content.

Consult with clients on farm data strategy, pre- and post-sales.

Write sales proposals and manage key client relationships.

Interpret and present technical project outcomes, including GHG results and sustainability recommendations.

Collaborate with technology teams on data analysis and verification.

Identify customer needs and support new product development.

Stay up to date on market trends and provide input into product strategy.

Support client onboarding and usage of Map of Ag tools when needed.
Requirements

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong written and verbal presentation abilities.

Sound understanding of livestock and arable farming systems.

Experience in GHG modelling and sustainability measurement.

Strategic mindset and attention to technical detail.

Experience working in agricultural consultancy across at least two countries (NZ, UK, or Australia).

Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or related field; postgraduate or professional accreditation preferred.

Must have full legal right to work in New Zealand.
