About the Job
An established organization in Port Alberni, British Columbia is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and oversee operations across goods production, utilities, transportation, and construction functions. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, operations, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management or executive-level role
Proven background overseeing operations in production, utilities, transportation, construction, or related sectors
Strong leadership, strategic planning, and organizational management skills
Advanced knowledge of financial controls, budgeting, and resource allocation
Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making abilities
Ability to manage multiple departments and senior leaders effectively
High level of professionalism, accountability, and integrity
Fluency in English
Ability to work on-site in Port Alberni, British Columbia
Responsibilities
Allocate financial, human, and material resources to support organizational strategies and programs
Coordinate and oversee the work of multiple regions, divisions, or departments
Establish and enforce financial, administrative, and operational controls
Develop, approve, and monitor organizational objectives, policies, and programs
Lead overall human resource planning in collaboration with senior management
Approve and guide promotional, operational, and growth initiatives
Represent the organization in negotiations, partnerships, and official functions
Recruit, select, and appoint senior managers and executive staff
Delegate authority and responsibilities while ensuring accountability
Create an efficient, collaborative, and high-performance working environment
Ensure operational alignment with long-term business goals
