Requirements

  • Great attitude with genuine desire to help and support others
  • Commitment to achieving excellence in all you do
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous healthcare or care-giving experience would be advantageous (but not essential)
  • Healthcare qualifications are advantageous
  • Full New Zealand driver’s license required
  • Own reliable transport (essential for travel to Cromwell and Wanaka)
  • Right to work in New Zealand
  • Willingness to undergo police vetting and additional background checks
  • Available to work Monday to Friday with alternate weekends
  • Availability between 8:00am and 5:00pm
  • Willingness to travel to Cromwell and Wanaka to support clients

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients to live as independently as possible within their homes and community
  • Help clients achieve their personal goals and reach their potential through practical and emotional support
  • Follow individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs
  • Prepare meals and assist with nutrition
  • Support community outings and social integration
  • Administer medication as prescribed
  • Provide personal care assistance (showering, toileting, grooming)
  • Assist with home management tasks
  • Support clients with daily living activities
  • Work collaboratively as part of a wider healthcare team
  • Maintain client dignity, respect, and confidentiality
  • Document care provided and communicate effectively with team members
